THE WEAHER GAME

1. Overview

The Weather Champs® Weather Game (“Game”) is a skill-based forecasting competition where participants make predictions about upcoming weather conditions and seasonal trends. The Game is hosted within the Weather Champs® mobile application and is open to eligible users who purchase entries using Play Passes during the designated entry window.

2. Scope of the Game

The Weather Game may focus on a specific time period, region, and weather .
Each Game will clearly define:

• The geographic area of focus (City, State)

• The time period being forecasted (Tomorrow's Forecast)

• The specific weather metrics included in scoring

Only officially verified weather observations for the defined scope will be used for scoring and evaluation.

3. Predictions and Scoring Criteria

Each participant submits predictions based on the defined metrics for that specific Game. These may include, but are not limited to:

• Temperature (average, highs, or extremes)

• Precipitation (total rainfall or snowfall)

• Severe weather events (e.g., storms, tornadoes, or named systems)

• Wind-related metrics (e.g., peak wind speed or gusts)

The exact prediction categories will vary depending on the Game format.

 

4. Entry and Play Passes

To participate, users must purchase Play Passes within the Weather Champs® app.

• Each Play Pass grants one (1) entry for the selected Game

• Users may purchase multiple Play Passes for multiple entries

• Play Passes may be offered individually or in discounted bundles

5. Entry Window

Each Weather Game will have a clearly defined entry period.

• Users may submit or edit predictions at any time during the entry window

• Entries submitted after the deadline will not be accepted

• Unused Play Passes may roll over depending on Game rules

6. Educational Forecasts (Optional)

Weather Champs® may provide expert forecasts, model guidance, or historical data to assist participants in making informed predictions. These resources are for educational purposes only and do not influence scoring or outcomes.

7. Scoring System

Each entry begins with a base score of 100 points. After the forecast period concludes:

• Each prediction is compared to the official observed values

• The difference (delta) between predicted and actual values is calculated

• Each delta is normalized to ensure fair weighting across different weather metrics

• The average normalized error is subtracted from 100 to determine the final score

This normalization ensures that no single metric (such as wind speed or precipitation extremes) disproportionately impacts the overall score.

8. Bonus Points

A time-based bonus may be applied to reward early entries.

• Bonus values and structure will be defined per Game

• Earlier submissions receive higher bonus points

• Bonus is added to the final score after base scoring

9. Determination of Winners

At the conclusion of the Game period:

• Final weather data is validated using official sources

• All entries are scored and ranked based on total score (base score + bonus)

• Top-performing entries are declared winners based on the Game’s prize structure

Validation and scoring may take a reasonable period following the end of the forecast window.

 

10. Prizes

Each Weather Game will define its own prize structure, which may include:

• Forecast Coins (Weather Champs in-app currency)

• Cash prizes

• Weather-related equipment

• Event tickets or experiences

• Gift cards or other rewards

Prize details will be clearly communicated within each Game.

11. Legal Disclaimer

Participation in the Weather Game constitutes full and unconditional agreement to the Weather Champs® Terms of Use and Privacy Policy. All prizes are non-transferable and subject to applicable laws and regulations.

Weather Champs® and Tropical Chasers, Inc. are not affiliated with or endorsed by any third-party organizations referenced within the Game. All trademarks are the property of their respective owners.

All disputes shall be governed by the laws of the State of Florida, with jurisdiction in Volusia County, Florida.
